An exclusive collaboration with the independent eyewear brand and the legendary artist’s estate.
MoMA Exclusive: We partnered with Akila and the Henri Matisse Estate to develop these MoMA Henri Matisse Sunglasses, which are a special edition of the LA-based brand’s popular Syndicate style, a rectangular frame that flatters all face shapes. The color palette and pattern are inspired by a paper cut-out titled The Knife Thrower from the artist’s book, Jazz (1943-47), a collection of colorful collages in MoMA’s collection. Every pair is handmade from eco-conscious, biodegradable acetate and stainless steel. Engraved onto the temples are Matisse’s signature, the Akila logo and of course, the MoMA logo making these shades exclusive to us. Each frame comes with a matching microfiber lens cloth and puff pouch. The Henri Matisse Knife Thrower Akila Sunglasses have a frame that measures 1.75h x 5.79”w with temples that measure 6.25”l.
